What you will learn
This course focuses on Basic Life Support (BLS) for the adult patient.
It follows the Australian, New Zealand Committee on Resuscitation (ANZCOR) Basic Life Support flowchart which provides a structured, step-by-step approach to Basic Life Support.
Relevance
This course has been developed for health sector employees who may be bystanders, first aid providers, first and second responders.
This course is not for WCHN staff. If you are a WCHN staff member you should do the updated "WCHN Basic Life Support – WCH Campus" or "WCHN Basic Life Support – Community" courses.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this course you will be able to:
- list the steps in the Australian New Zealand Resuscitation Committee on Resuscitation (ANZCOR) Basic Life Support flowchart, January 2016
- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the skills necessary to effectively perform Basic Life Support
- apply the steps in the Basic Life Support flowchart in a simulated scenario in a follow-up face-to-face workshop.
